i survived!

i can't believe the bazaar bizarre boston 2009 has already come and gone! it went SO WELL and everyone i spoke to said they thought it was a success and that they had a great time! that makes me so happy.

thanks to all the vendors, all the shoppers and all the organizers!

i sold a huge bunch of pouches but i still have some left. i'm going to get those up in the shop by this weekend, so check back! i'll post here when i update.

i also treated myself to a couple things, including a bracelet from nervous system

and some amazing-smelling body cream from bunny butt apothecary

i've been wanting both of those things since LAST year's bbb. i decided i must really want them in that case, so it was time to cave in :)

i've currently got some more small seahorse and squirrel pouches in progress! these are new color combinations - gold on purple and green on pink. i really like them!

the final countdown

i picked up the last of the supplies i'll need to finish my stuff for the bazaar bizarre tonight - 1 more yard of blue duck cloth and 2 huge spools of thread (one white, one black). there is nothing worse than sitting at your sewing machine and being in the groove and suddenly RUNNING OUT OF THREAD. i have done this more times than i care to admit, haha.

i also picked up some containers at ikea last night, so i'll have a slightly different table set up than in previous years. i'm hoping that things will be a little more organized and therefore look a lot nicer. the containers aren't anything fancy, but i'm thinking they'll do the trick!

bazaar bizarre boston - this sunday!

i apologize for my lack of updates! BUT, luckily the reason for my absence (mostly) is that i am in the throes of preparation for the

how is it already the end of july? this summer is going by crazy fast!

i've been on a bit of a summer vacation from saint9. what have i been doing instead of working away diligently in my studio? taking mini vacations (virginia, chicago, toronto), grilling pineapple, camping, swimming in ponds and rivers, going to concerts, and, of course, hanging out with my dog, gracie :)

i haven't gone on a complete vacation, however. the shop is still open and i added a few more par avion pouches just the other day.

as the end of summer draws near (can you believe it??!!) i'll surely be back to work on some new items and will undoubtedly be participating in some upcoming events, so please check back soon :)

design nearby - this friday!!

this friday night, i'm taking part in a gallery opening/sale called

i'm super excited and honored to be participating with such a talented group of artists, including fellow boston bazaar bizarre 2008 vendors family dinner for one, jhill design, vonica designs and dave ortega. i have 2 new screenprints in the show. so exciting!

here's some more info about the event:

The annual Design Nearby show at pinkcomma gallery kickstarts the holiday shopping season with “Cloth, Paper, Scissors." This one-night exhibition and sale (on Friday, December 12) builds on 2007’s successful print-themed show (deemed "contempo" and featured in DailyCandy's weekend edition). This year’s show focuses on printed, sliced and stitched works by Boston-area artists and designers. Whether on paper, canvas, t-shirts, or textiles, the sixteen featured artists display a variety and breadth of design sensibilities. Each designer will present two to six pieces, with editions available for sale.

hope to see you there!
